Firstly, I want to wish you all a gorgeous weekend ahead, filled with sunshine, great food, good company and a feeling of unconditional hope.
Secondly, I wanted to tell you that yesterday was AMAZINGGG!
For those of you who follow me on social media —assuming that is where you have joined me on here from— you may have seen my stories from yesterday’s visit to the printing house. But if you haven’t, go and watch them before they expire! They are sooo much fun, I’m serious —at one point I literally walk into a wall and my husband films this happening.
I couldn’t not post it on my story for you all. Have to share the clumsiness, of course.
It was such a surreal experience. And the whole journey of working on this book has been surreal. Magical. Unforgettable. Every milestone that I cross, every new experience that I have, every moment is one that I will cherish forever.
And I truly hope that each and every one of you is able to realize your dreams in the same way —because when your dreams come true it seems as though the whole world is on your side. It’s such a magical feeling. It’s so, so amazing.
For this week, I’m still reeling from the high of going to the printing house —so, I decided to talk about some of my favourite books in the realm of self-love that will help heal your heart, enlighten your mind and soothe your soul.
Here are 5 books that you must read if you’re on the path to self-love:
1. ‘Welcome Home’ by Najwa Zebian
This is an incredible book by a phenomenal author. I love Najwa so much. Her words are so healing, and I’ve been following —and fangirling over her— for years because everything Najwa says resonates with every part of my being.
Najwa’s book ‘Welcome Home’ is a testament to her commitment to allow her readers to heal and find themselves though providing a safe and compassionate environment in which they can thrive.
2. ‘8 Rules of Love’ by Jay Shetty
I’ve been following Jay for years now, and his videos on motivation, self-love, productivity, healing, health and lifestyle and so much more have been so helpful to me during my healing journey. I love his podcast and I was so excited when this book came out.
Jay’s book ‘8 Rules of Love’ is so much more than romantic romantic relationships. It teaches you about the different shades of love, and when to know whether you’re right for someone or whether they’re right for you. There are also so many invaluable tips and tools that can change your self-love journey —such knowing what you deserve, when to let go of those who don’t treat you right, boundaries etc.
There’s so much on self-love and self-worth in this book!
3. ‘Lighter’ by Yung Pueblo
This book is for anyone and everyone who is on the path to self-discovery and healing and is trying to find themselves. Yung Pueblo’s words are always so insightful and encouraging and ‘Lighter’ is both vulnerable and incredibly honest —it’s filled with useful tips and tools on how to find yourself, how to be compassionate with yourself, how to treat yourself with empathy and how to treat others with empathy too.
This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to read something beautifully raw and honest.
4. ‘Closer to Love’ by Vex King'
Vex is not only one of my most favourite authors, but he’s such an incredibly kind, compassionate and giving person. He literally practises what he preaches.
‘Closer to Love’ teaches you about how to know when to let go, how to know whether you’re right for someone, how to love yourself enough to know what you deserve. There’s so much incredible and useful insight in this book about both romantic and non-romantic relationships —it’s a book that teaches you how to navigate around love, and it’s such a special, healing and personal book.
I truly loved this one, and Vex is definitely one of my favourites!!
5. ‘The Path to Self-Love’ by Ruby Dhal (Yours Truly)
What can I say about my own book, other than the fact that I have poured my heart, soul and all my life lessons on self-love in here for you.
Well, I can say that ‘The Path to Self-Love’ is an incredibly useful tool in navigating your journey to self-love and healing. It teaches you about boundary-setting, how to balance your relationships with self-love, what self-love means in today’s day and age —in the face of social media— and there’s so, so much more in this book which I can’t wait for you all to read.
This book is an accumulation of my life's experiences, emotions, hard lessons and growth —that have shaped my healing journey— which I've transformed into a nourishing and honest guide that will heal your heart, unlock your inner strength, and help you harness the power of self-love to transform all areas of your life.
